1. Our Commitment

At the International Standards & Accreditation Board (ISAB), we recognize that impartiality is the cornerstone of trust in the accreditation process. Our mission is to provide independent, reliable, and unbiased accreditation services to organizations and individuals globally. We declare that ISAB and all its personnel are committed to maintaining the highest levels of objectivity, integrity, and transparency in all our assessment and accreditation activities.

2. Principles of Impartiality

ISAB ensures impartiality by strictly adhering to the following principles:

• Independence: ISAB is a distinct legal entity. ISAB does not provide consultancy, internal auditing, or direct training services to Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs). Where related entities may operate in associated fields, ISAB maintains a strict, legally binding firewall to ensure complete separation of governance, finances, and personnel from any business advisory or training services.
• Objectivity: All accreditation decisions are based on objective evidence obtained through fair and consistent assessment processes. Decisions are never influenced by financial, commercial, or personal pressures.
• Non-Discrimination: Our policies and procedures are applied in a non-discriminatory manner. We provide equal access to our services to all applicants whose requests fall within our scope of activity.
• Conflict of Interest Management: We proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate any potential conflicts of interest. Personnel involved in the accreditation process are required to sign a declaration of non-conflict of interest and confidentiality.

3. Governance and Oversight

ISAB operates under the guidance of an independent Impartiality Committee. This committee is responsible for:

• Safeguarding the impartiality of our accreditation processes.
• Reviewing and monitoring the actions of our staff and assessors.
• Providing an unbiased avenue for addressing complaints and appeals.

4. Personnel and Assessors

Our assessors, employees, and committee members are contractually obligated to perform their duties in a professional and impartial manner. They are prohibited from:

• Providing consultancy to the Certification Bodies (CABs) or end-user organizations they are assessing.
• Accepting gifts, hospitality, or any form of influence that could compromise their judgment.
• Participating in the accreditation assessment of any Certification Body where they have had a prior personal, commercial, or professional relationship within the last two years.

5. Accountability

We encourage all stakeholders, including government regulators, accredited Certification Bodies, their end-users, and the public, to hold ISAB accountable to these principles. Any party that believes ISAB has acted in a biased or discriminatory manner is encouraged to report their concerns immediately to our Office of Impartiality.

All complaints will be investigated thoroughly, documented, and reviewed by the Impartiality Committee, with all findings communicated to the relevant parties in accordance with our documented Appeals Procedure.
